This is a very enjoyable and believeable story.  I really enjoy stories that can show not just what the character is doing but also lets me see what he is thinking.

Excellent work Marie.

Author's Response: Now, I'm blushing!  I'm glad you liked it and thanks a lot for your wonderful comment! I do believe that hidden thoughts could reveal more than one side of a character, and I so like going into such depth!

You know that Red Impulse is one of my least favorite characters, yet you have managed to create a believable picture of regret... something he might be feeling at a vulnerable moment. You've definitely made the scene come to life before my eyes!

Author's Response: Thanks a lot for your lovely comment, and I'm glad that you liked this short story of mine, notwithstanding its main character!  I'm also very glad by the fact that you have understood the message I wished to convey!  I, myself, am not a great fan of Red Impulse, but I always believe that even the toughest of people have a soft, human side, somewhere in their character!  And this was written during the Christmas period, wasn't it?! ... I had to be more merciful!!
