This doesn't feel finished, maybe you planned another one after it? I'd love to see where you take this. Also, I don't think it's too far-fetched to have the team in an abusive upbringing, really. Anderson is a character that could easily go dark. He implanted kids far too young to understand what they were consenting to, if their consent even mattered. He's got an experimental engineered child and it's put as something that's not usual or normal. He seems a lot colder with the team than Nambu is in the original. I thought it was an interesting take, and would love to see if the team can ultimately come together and overcome this.

I read this story years ago but never had a chance to review it until now.
There is so much about this story that I love. The descriptions of Spectra and the characterizations of Zoltar and Mala are marvelous and ring true. You really bring Spectran culture to life and drive home the fact that though they're like us in many ways, they're still alien.
I was willing to suspend disbelief regarding Zoltar and Mala's abusive, brutal upbringing. After all, we don't learn very much about these characters in canon and as I said, your characterization rings so very true.
However, my suspended disbelief came crashing down when it came to G-Force and Chief Anderson. There's no way he'd abuse the team or rape Princess or allow her rapists to go free. No way. There's no way they could have functioned as they did on the show if Anderson were constantly pitting them against each other and undermining their relationships with one another. Mala even said it in one of the later chapters, that it's a wonder that G-Force functioned as well as they did. I don't think they could have functioned at all in the atmosphere you described, and I don't think that Princess was as damaged as you made her in this fic.
I didn't have any problem swallowing the notion that she may have been gang raped by Spectrans, or that they'd try for more of the same if they got the chance again. After all, they're the "bad guys", right? I also didn't have any problem with any parts of Spectran society that you created; as I said, I really enjoyed reading your take no the Spectran culture. And this fic is beautifully written, achingly so in places.
I hope one day you decide to continue it, and give Princess, Jason, Mala, and Zoltar the happy ending that they deserve!
