This is still a very, very funny story. It's not funny in a slapstick way, indeed it's a very serious situation with a very real possibility of tragedy -- if they hadn't been able to escape, I'd sure hate to have to write the eulogy for that: (insert favourite awful pun here). It's just how silly it is to be done in by a cargo of swelling flour that makes it hilarious. It's a good illustration of what Terry Jones (one of the members of what was Monty Python's Flying Circus) calls the thin line between absurdity and horror.
Very much loved about it is how you haven't made anyone into an idiot for the purposes of furthering the story. Jason and Susan might not have known right away what was wrong, but the manner in which they kept calm and investigated the problem as different aspects of it came to light is both refreshingly (and believably) professional and adds to the tension of it as we wonder if they'll find out what the problem is while there's still time and what, if anything, they can do about it.
And oh yes, I love the music. ;-)
