I don't know if you're interested in a fic that shows Zark in a sympathetic light, but Barrdwing's fic "In A Small Room" really gave me a whole new perspective on Zark. Give it a try (yes, it's here on this archive)! :D

The producers of BotP received the Gatch episodes seriously out of sequence. They never knew what they would receive in the mail.
Because of this, not only this episode, but [i]Raid of the Red Scorpion[/i] precede [i]The Sky is Falling[/i]. Changes the focus of the series, and the emotional impact of the episodes.
And the scriptwriters didn't have a whole lot of time to work. Which means it's a minor miracle the show is as good as it is.
Now, if they could have just refrained from creating Susan, and toned down Zark a bit....

You know, this was one of the ones that Cartoon Network played ONCE (GoS version) and that I lost the recording of!(Aaaagghhh!) But I seem to remember that Ace (Eagle) says that, "Red Imp. knew I didn't drink coffee!" Slightly more sensible. And G-1's "coming to" after PDOS's gloating spree sticks with me as one of the cooler scenes in the anime. That said, I don't bloody care WHAT translation/version of the Wasp Mech ep it is, G-1 gets MAJOR negative points from me for being such an irresponsible, fool-headed, gullible jerk! (I feel better now.)
Oh, and when the whole team's locked up in that underground prison? On GoS they can't contact the Dr. because they're too deep underground. (Plausible...Watch out for plot holes on other eps, tho.)
But you did a GREAT job on the review (all of them!) and here's some super-dark cyber-chocolate to counter the Zarkiness. :-) And here's a Zark punching bag. >:->

Yes, Mark needs a good smack around the ear'ole for his behaviour in this episode. You'd think he might have learned after The Sky is Falling but no. Thank you for the Zark punching bag. ;)
