This was the version that was supposed to be truer to Gatch? (At least until Gatch came along.)

No matter what the incarnation, I always wonder what happened to the girl. (Although, in the original, I can imagine that Mom was still around, just not mentioned. Japanese women were supposed to be good little hausfraus, not assertive butt-kickers.)
