Eek, how did I never review this? Cloud, I really love this piece. Mark and Jason are both so fragile in their own ways, and I can see Mark taking the criticisms very hard in his struggle to make them proud. Jason is so fierce in supporting him as an older brother, and I love the sarcasm where Mark says sure, he'll just dance everyone to death. I do hope one day to see more of your AU. :)

I can't believe I never reviewed this! I thought for sure that I had...

This is a wonderful story, and I love the way it shows the evolution of Mark.. form a scared, lonely child who doesn't think he's good enough, through his own doubts about his abilities (even once he begins training) and toward the confidence we know he'll need and exhibit when he eventually becomes Commander.

And yes, I'm referring to more of your stories than just this one, but this fic is an important part of all that.

Author's Response: Thank you TJ.  I love seeing the progression of Mark's character as well.  And the physical and emotional strength he learns to accept from the others on his team.

This is a great ficcie. You showed in this how their friendship would develop into a complex one of a strong bond, and why the conflicts of command would happen later on! Well done CD

Well written

CD, this was wonderful! I love the close connection you gave to Jason and Mark, and the dialogue between them. Also, I enjoyed the "humanity" you gave to Mark...his doubts and insecurities. I was giggling when Jason said that Mark was "supple and flexible"...I thought they both might break into laughter at that point! LOL Fabulous writing, baybee!!
