This has a somewhat weird history. I have a habit of wondering, "how would
things have changed if certain characters were female instead of male?"
When I read a silly manga where Ken became pregnant with Joe's child (don't
ask), I thought about taking it seriously. What if Ken had been born female
instead? (Yes, she would never have become leader of the SNT given Nambu's
sexism. Let's pretend for now that Nambu could get past that.)
There was supposed to be a Gatch F novel in this universe, Project:
Phoenixfire, but I never got around to writing it. This is the only extant
Mari Washio story I've done. If anyone else likes the idea, feel free to
use it.
